The Native® 5 is the result of years of evolution and refinement of Spyderco’s popular Native model. It expresses the time-tested size, shape, and ergonomics of the original design with the benefit of state-of-the-art materials and a highly refined back lock mechanism that represents the pinnacle of strength, precision, and ease of operation.

This extraordinary expression of the Native 5 combines all the features and benefits of the standard pattern with a blade made from premium Crucible® CPM® S110V® stainless steel. Boasting an impressive 2.8% carbon and high amounts of vanadium and niobium, CPM S110V is specially formulated for exceptional wear resistance and enhanced corrosion resistance—key qualities in a high-performance blade steel. These qualities are locked into the material by Crucible’s powder metallurgy process, an advanced production method that greatly reduces separation of the alloys within the steel and ensures an exceptionally fine microstructure.

The leaf-shaped profile of the Native 5’s blade provides a long, gently curved cutting edge and a sturdy, utilitarian point. For maximum control, it features a forefinger choil and a thumb ramp with strategic jimping (textured grooves) that allow a forward-positioned grip during detailed cutting tasks. Its Trademark Round Hole™ proudly announces the knife’s Spyderco lineage and makes one-handed deployment with either hand swift and positive.

The Native 5’s linerless handle utilizes textured dark blue G-10 scales that are the signature color of Spyderco’s elite family of CPM S110V knives. To ensure convenient carry and instant access, the handle includes a broad-based four-position clip that supports left or right-side tip-up or tip-down carry.
